What Is Soroptimist?

Soroptimist International (SI) is an international organization for business and professional women.  Members work together to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.  The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women".  We currently have over 90,000 members in more than 3,000 clubs in 124 countires or territories.

Soroptimist in Fairfield/Suisun

Chartered on June 20, 2002 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the SI Central Solano club primarily supports the communities of Fairfield and Suisun City.  Members volunteer their time and efforts on many projects and community-based programs which focus on providing women and girls with the necessary skills and resources to achieve productive, successful lives. 

Some of the areas upon which we focus are domestic violence awareness; literacy and education; skills training and employment; women's health; scholarship grants and awards; and contributions of food, clothing and back-to-school supplies.  We raise funds to benefit these and other community programs through sponsorships and donations.  Our Federal Tax ID #

is 01-0714556.

Congratulationsto Women's Opportunity Award Winner, Fahima Khoram; Violet Richardson Winner Nesrine Majzoub; Violet Richardson Award Winner Lucienne

Altman-Newell; and Ruby Award Winner for Women Making a Difference Robin Weidman.  These dynamic women were honored at our Women Making a Difference Luncheon,

held March 19, 2013.

In May, Nesrine, Robin, and Fahima were honored at Founder Region Conference, receiving additional District and Region accolades.  Members from Central Solano club, and President Stephanie were on hand to celebrate.

Soroptimist of Central Solano County meets Tuesdays (except the First Tuesday of each month), September thru June, at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield.  First Tuesdays are generally off-site mixers at various locations.  Please contact us for more information!
